The "E-word"
Exercise. My mom calls it the “E-word.” You either love it or hate it. Let’s just say, I am working to love it. I’m still not sad when the dog or kids interrupt me. But unfortunately, the evidence is clear — exercise matters and it’s important for our health.
Exercise actually changes the brain! It protects our memory and thinking. One study found regular aerobic exercise increases the size of the hippocampus (verbal memory and learning). But resistance training and balance exercises did not.
This is so important because dementia is on the rise. It is estimated that by 2050, over 115 million people will have the disease.
This little treadmill of mine was a genius Craig’s list purchase! So cheap, and think of how many people out there buy exercise equipment and don’t use it… Craig’s list is worth checking out. I’ve had it for 8 years and it holds a baby monitor like a pro. I’ve also logged many hours watching the bachelor/bachelorette, that it’s embarrassing to admit. Whatever you need to do to get moving, just do it!
